WHITES - All-Stars

All-Star Whites

Haldane Genetics ALL-STAR WHITE ® are a maternal shedding ewe that has been selected for having twins and rebreeding whilst lactating. ALL-STAR WHITE ®  Ewes have been selected for both qualitative traits and highly heritable quantitative traits during the development of the flock.

 

To become a STAR ewe she must lamb every 7.2 months over her reproductive life. To achieve ALL-STAR WHITE ® status a ewe must raise twins every 7.2 months over a 5-year period. The flock have been selected using the STAR accelerated lambing program. Haldane Genetics DNA profile every lamb born in the STAR program. Our in-house molecular geneticists have used this deep database of genomic information to unlock the genes that produce more lambs.

 

Over time due to Haldane Genetics performance protocols and culling practices, the ALL-STAR WHITE ® sheep have gradually become:- Full Shedding; White; Polled & Short tailed. Genes in the ALL-STAR WHITE ® ewe means that they are parasite tolerant, offer 10% more lean meat yield, carry genes that increase meat quality & value.

ALL-STAR WHITE ® maternal ewes address several health and well-being issues, such as stress and pain associated with shearing of wool, docking of tails, removal of horns, and reduce susceptibility to parasites and foot rot infection.

NUDIES - High Productivity

Haldane Genetics NUDIE  are a breed of shedding sheep adapted to high productivity farming environments that can experience cold, wet, and muddy conditions with internal parasites pressures.

 

Haldane Genetics have been breeding NUDIE  ewes since 2008 using the best available genetics from NUDIE seedstock flocks. Complementing the strength of the overall NUDIE breeding program, Haldane Genetics focus on genomic improvement via the latest gene technologies, has allowed new adapted genes to be merged into the NUDIE  flock, creating a very productive sheep.

Haldane Genetics is proud that NUDIE  sheep have been chosen as the preferred shedding foundation stock for many existing maternal composite lamb producers in the the high rainfall regions of Australia and New Zealand. This trend is testament to the strength of the Nudie development program.
